Maxim Anferov

Maxim was born in Kazakhstan. Already at the age of 9 he entered an art school in Astana. From 1996 to 2001 he studied at an art lyceum in Ryazan, Russia. In 2001, he entered the first year of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov in Moscow and six years later received a Master's degree. In 2007 he was accepted to the courses organized at Mosfilm in Moscow to obtain a diploma of production designer. For the next 2 years he worked on creating sets for films, but in parallel he was also involved in monumental works. In 2011 he moved to Cyprus, where together with his wife he opened a school of painting and created a puppet theater for children. Maxim participates in symposia and numerous group exhibitions in Cyprus and Russia, and his works are in private collections in Cyprus, Russia and Brussels. Since 2019, Maxim is taking over the preparation of sets for theaters and dance schools, and in 2024, as Chief Production Designer, he is creating the sets for the American film Entropy, filmed in Cyprus.
